IBPS PO/MT Guide

IBPS CWE MT/PO 4 shall be held on following days in the month of October and November 2014
  • 11 October
  • 12 October
  • 18 October
  • 19 October
  • 1 November
  • 2 November
The exam shall be held in online mode and following is the format of examination of IBPS CWE PO 2014
  • Reasoning 50 Questions 50 Marks
  • English Language 40 Questions 40 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude 50 Questions 50 Marks
  • General Awareness with special reference to banking industry 40 Questions and 40 Marks
  • Computer Knowledge 20 Questions 20 Marks
Total Question 200
Total Marks    200
Total Time     120 Minutes ( 2 Hours )

There will be sectional cutoff 

Penalty for wrong answer is .25 marks or 1/4th Marks

With very few days remaining for the exam as it starts form 11 October here is the quick guide which shall help you to score good marks in the examination.
  • As the mode of exam is online , need to have a quick glance of the questions of all the sections and start with the section you find most easy
  • You can start from GK then Computer with minimum time as you can spend 25 minutes in these two sections
  • So now you have 95 minutes with you with three sections remaining
  • Give 25 Minutes to English and subsequent 35 Minutes each to Quantitative and Reasoning
  • With the above time spread you can clear the sectional cutoff. Do remember than scoring heavily in one section and not doing well in other section inspite of having a score of 150 plus , you may not get a call as there is sectional cutoff also.
  • The rough paper is provided by the exam center for doing rough work

Reasoning :-
  • Focus on the easy questions which you can answer quickly 
  • Practice the questions like INPUT-OUTPUT, MISSING NUMBERS, SET QUESTIONS - SYLLOGISMS, QUESTIONS BASED OF PARAGRAPH OR SHORT PRECISE LIKE ASSUMPTION, RESULT , 
  • Try to solve more than 35 questions in the 35 minutes or even 30 questions with excellent accuracy can be enough to have a descent score 
English Language :- 
  • First of all focus on the comprehension as it is having 10-12 questions and some easy questions as word meaning type where you can score well with very minimum time
  • Practice the questions like ARRANGE THE PARAGRAPH, MISSING WORDS, COMPLETE THE SENTENCE 
  • As English has always been previously only passing sections in banking exams but now with its inclusion as main marking section it gives an excellent opportunity to those who practice the English well and they can score heavily 
  • Try to solve 30-35 questions in 25 minutes of time with good accuracy
Quantitative Aptitude :-
  • This sections can also be high scoring considering the fact that you have practiced well before the exam and you are aware of the question patterns which have been previously asked in examinations.
  • A good practice can make you through in this sections as well as in this exam
  • Just read any previously year solved books related to IBPS PO / MT in which sectional solutions are provided , so that you get to know which kinds of question are asked in the examination.
  • Here is few good recommended books for IBPS Quantitative Sections
  • Focus on number calculations which can be handy during exam to save precious time 
  • Learn the table from 1-30 and of important number from 31-100 as of 35,36,44,45,65 etc
  • Try to solve the graphical questions as in these questions the answers can be found accurately with little calculations and a good sections to score 
General Awareness with special reference to banking industry :-
  • Mostly current affair questions with finance and bank background are asked in this sections
  • Read the previous 6 months magazines such as pratiyogita darpan or banking service chronicals
  • Regularly visit the sites like www.gkforbankexam.blogspot.com for regular gk updates
  • Read the newspapers carefully especially financial newspaper
Computer Aptitude :-
  • This section consists of normal computer related questions
  • The questions at times can be tricky as inspite of knowing answers one get confused during selection
  • Hence try to get any compouter aptitude related book and read form that book 
  • Also as mentioned above following the sites like www.gkforbankexam.blogspot.com can be very very helpful.
  • In the exam you can solve this paper within five minutes try to solve 15 question with good accuracy and solved the questions which you know well else leave the other where you are not sure as negative marks may bring down your score
  • You should target the score of 14-18 in this section
